Who is this course made for?
This course is designed for youth ages 13-17 with a keen interest in learning about equine musculoskeletal care and massage therapy treatment. Whether you are planning to take this course to care and work on your own horses or to start and grow a business, the opportunities are endless and the choices are up to you!

*This course requires that a parent or guardian commits to supporting the student during the course as well as after graduation. The “guardian” must complete an in-person equine safety test (pre-study sent online) when the student is completing their in-person training*

What is covered:
-equine safety and basic health
-muscular anatomy
-intro to skeletal anatomy
-intro to biomechanics
-intro to conformation and soundness
-massage techniques (ample hands-on practice)
-assessing a horse both still and in movement
-involving a team of practitioners when necessary (including veterinary care)
-stretches, exercises, follow-up recommendations post-massage
-theory training can now be completed online due to COVID. You will be mailed/emailed all materials, and numerous coaching calls can be scheduled to help you through all study materials

In-person training:
-you will have the opportunity to complete multiple assessments, massage treatments, and practice all massage techniques with 1:1 coaching
-in-person training is now available privately due to COVID, providing you ample opportunity to access the style of teaching and learning that best suits your needs
-2 days are required to complete your hands-on training, with the option of booking additional dates. Your parent or guardian must attend with you; each of our facilities have a comfortable sitting area for them to stay in if they don’t wish to watch for the entire duration
-complete 3 case-studies (massages completed independently) after finishing your hands-on training. Submit the assignment online to obtain your certification!
